SOUTH INDIA TEXTILE RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (SITRA)

Sitra, an acronym for the south India textile research association, established in the year 1956, is governed by a council of administration consisting of member representatives from the industry, government and scientists. Sitra is sponsored by the industry and is supported by the ministry of textiles, government of India. Sitra has been designated as a centre of excellence (coe) for medical textiles by the ministry of textiles (mot), govt. Of India. Sitra has set-up a state-of-the art facility for pilot scale manufacturing and quality evaluation of medical textile products. The centre has served as a backbone for many businesses in the medical textiles market by providing technical assistance to many domestic and international manufacturers right from concept to product.
