İzmir, a port city where commercial relations have been intense throughout its history, also hosted the first fair of the country's history. The "Sample Exhibition" held during the İzmir Economics Congress was later renamed the "September 9 Exhibition" and these exhibitions were accepted as the beginning of the İzmir International Fair.As a result of the success of the İzmir International Fair held in Kültürpark, founded by Dr. Behçet Uz, over the years and the developments in the Turkish economy, under the leadership of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, Aegean Exporters Association, İzmir Chamber of Commerce, In partnership with the İzmir Commodity Exchange, on February 7, 1990, İzmir Fair Services Culture and Art Works Trade. Inc. (İZFAŞ) was established.İZFAŞ, which took the steps of virtual fair organization in order to get out of the restrictive environment of the new order created by the pandemic in 2021, with the "Turkey's Virtual Fair Area Digital İzmir Fair" platform, which it created with its own infrastructure.
