It is held bi-annually with a view to showcase the Cultural Heritage of Indian Handmade Carpets & Other Floor Coverings and Promote the Weaving Skills of Indian Weavers to the visiting overseas carpet buyers. Asia's largest Handmade Carpet Fair showcasing Indian Cultural Heritage and Weaving Skills. Bi-annual event organized by Carpet Export Promotion Council, sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Textiles. Exclusive handmade carpets from various regions displayed. B-2-B event focused on overseas buyers with attractive complementary packages.
The 1st India Carpet Expo was organized in the year of 2001 and in this series total 45 shows have been organizes till March 2023. Carpet Export Promotion Council organized this fair twice in a year.
The fair is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Every year approx. 300 exhibitors display their exclusive Handmade Carpets mainly from Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Panipat, Jammu & Kashmir, Jaipur, Bikaner area.
